Default arctic cat, polaris, ezgo

hello. im new to all this, but i have started a project after reading all about ur cool projects. I have a 95 ezgo electric so i stripped all drive components to istall the drive from a 95 polaris scrambler (rear end, front end, trans, and transfer case). the engine is off a 97ish arctic cat 580 ex efi. i am using the primary clutch off the arctic cat and the secondary off the polaris but they are two different size belts. arctic cat 1 5/16 polaris 1 1/8. which belt should i use and how do I line it up?

I would look into shimming or machining one or the other.

USe the 1 1/8" Polaris belt... If you use the larger belt it won't drop into the seconary far enough and wont get to top speed.

You might be ok with this set up but tuning the primary to work with that belt would be best ... Not sure what you can do with the Artic Cat clutches.. I Unshimmed my Comet 102-C to work with a thinner belt

I have a 98 arctic cat zr 500, and the drive clutch off of the Polaris I used for parts fit right on the sled engine, same center bolt and all.

when i lined up my clutches, i used a stailness steel ruler 18" long. put it flat in the clutches and moved them around until it looked straight standing back 5-10 feet. not sure its the perfect way to do it, but thats what i did.
not sure about your clutches being different. i may make a spacer or keep looking until you find a better clutch that works.
pictures would help i would think, if you had any.
