440 kawasaki in a 84 Club Car DS
so i have a 440 kawasaki engine that i took from a john deere trailfire. And i have an 84 club car ds that its going in. The cart itself isnt in bad shape. it was bought from a golf course a while back. the only real issue with it is that it has major electrical issues. so i said, "sounds like i need a sled engine". I had to tear the engine down to install a flywheel with a ring gear on it, so i can have the luxury of a turn key start. thats all done, now all i have to do is tear down the cart, and start on that side of the project. Now this is going to be the slowest going build thread out there, because i dont have a lot of time on my hands, but it should prove interesting, because i am on a tiiiiiny budget. any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.
This is the cart with the body off 0124141619a.jpg Here is the 440 engine, ready to be installed 0124141541.jpg And this is the cart after I got the engine out. 0124141647b.jpg |

Re: 440 kawasaki in a 84 Club Car DS
So here are some more pics
Here is the engine test fitted in the cart. It isnt bolted down, only sitting on wood blocks, but it fits!! 0125141846.jpg Does anyone have any ideas for the exhaust? Its a sled engine so sadly I have to fit the stock exhaust in there 0125141844.jpg I think im gonna do something like this. Or, I might flip the engines cylinders around, to have the exhaust come out the other side. I already tried it with my other engine thats identical. Please gimme some suggestions 0125141844b.jpg |

Re: 440 kawasaki in a 84 Club Car DS
I just tried it after looking at the directions, it can be a little confusing. Basically have the link to the ds club thread copied to your computer or phones memory. Tap on the globe with the chain link on it and paste the link when it asks. it will leave a highlighted area in your signature. Just type "Club Car DS Drivers club" in the highlighted area and save it.
