So turnin over my golfcarts engine today, i noticed that the crank is apperently bent... i have no idea how that happened. I see no possible explanation. Can anyone tell me if the crank from my 340 engine would go in my 440? they are bassically the same engine. i think the only difference is the pistons. and maybe the bore.

Sounds like you need new crank seals. Did you do a compression test? Yes ether is bad for 2 strokes, no oil in it.

how hard is it to replace crank seals? and how hard would it be to just replace the crank. can i replace the crank by just tearing apart the bottom end and leaving the pistons in the cylinders? so i dont have to replace the rings.

so i tore apart the bottom end on my parts engine. i didnt realize that the crank and connecting rods where sealed together. but i am almost positive the cranks are interchangeable. if i switch cranks, would i have to change the piston rings once the pistons are out? or can i reuse rings. i really dont want to buy new rings if i dont have to. The engine runs good, just doesnt idle. All i want to buy is a gasket kit with all the top end gaskets and the crank seals.
