Question 2011 Star throttle responce

Have a 2011 Star and the throttle at first doesn't engage motor slowly it makes cart jump in fwd/rev then throttle response is normal. It's very hard to back into garage or move out with it jumping. I'm not sure if it's in pot or controller, I don't which type it has. Any recommendations are welcome.

Thanks

sounds like it may be a motor issue. you can test the throttles pot box if you have a multimeter and access to the controller. let me know what the voltage of the cart 36 or 48, as they use different controllers.

On my 2010 it was bad in reverse but the dealer plugged in their programmer and adjusted it. Could be your problem.

if you can gain access to the controller and know how to use a digital multimeter, you can test the pot box and foot switch in the pedal group.

to test foot input switch, set you meter to dc volts and place the positive lead on pin 8 (blue wire) and the other lead to main negative on battery pack. with cart in run, key on and F+R in neutral you should have 0 volts pedal at rest, and 48 volts when pedal is pressed down a slight bit to floor.

with the cart in run, on pin 13 (green / white wire) you should have 5 volts to main negative on battery pack, it can be less but not below 4.8 volts.

put the cart in tow, unplug the 24 pin connector from controller and using an ohm meter, check resistance between pins 13 and 14 (red / white wire) on the 24 pin connector. you should have a value of 5000 ohms give or take a few ohms.

next check the resistance between pins 13 and 15 (white wire)on the 24 pin connector should read the same value as it was on pins 13 and 14.

check resistance between pins 14 and 15 on the 24 pin connector, it should read 1 ohm or less.

check resistance between pins 14 and 15 on the 24 pin connector while pressing pedal slowly down. you should see the resistance gradually increase to the value you had between pins 13 and 14 one pedal is to the floor.

while you have access to the controller you can see and note any error flash codes the controller is displaying. the amber led will flash out any current errors the cart detects. it flashes, then a small pause, then another set of flashes.

hope this helps, let me know how you make out. Regards.
