Default Educate me on Star Carts

Our church made the mistake of buying an 8-seater Club Car to pick up and drop off folks coming to Sunday service... we have a big lot and it is a bit of a walk from the back of the lot. The 8 seater however had too wide turning radius and thus was not functional up and down the narrow parking aisles. I fixed that one up and sold it. Now with a budget around $6K we are looking for a six seater.
Ran across this "Star Cart." I know little about them. Obviously we need something durable and something that will last for a few years anyway. If you know star carts, can you take a look at the advertisement attached and tell me what your thoughts are about the Star Carts in general and specifically about this one and the price asked? Thank you!

I don't know anything about that particular cart, but I have worked on some friends Star carts. IMHO they are not nearly the quality of Club Car, EZ GO, or Yamaha.

I would not advise you to buy it. Just my 2 cents.

Star carts are a Chinese copycat of EZGO - looks kind of like an EZGO, but with less reliable - and harder to find parts. I've worked on several and would suggest you stay away.

I have a 2019 Star Sirius which has required several visits to dealer under warranty. Brake issues mainly...my dealer has been outstanding in working
with me servicing my cart under warranty. Parts take way too long to arrive.
The Star Sirius is a beautifully featured cart...but assembly execution is another story.

My cart will soon be returning to dealership for warranty brake parts.
Will wait another few months before i submit my review.

My dealership has been outsanding in their support.

For now Star carts for me of questionable quallty. Some owners have good success...others not so much.

Here is a link from Talk of the Villages topic regarding Star carts.

If Club Car and EZ Go had been had been proactive updating their deigns by including the feature sets found on the Star Sirius I would have gone that direction.

Best wishes friend

I would have thought The Sirius model Star's latest and greatest would really have been of much better quality time will tell

Here is a direct link to the Star Sirius features....which really impressed me.
Including an adjustable back rest making it easier for me to reach the steering wheel and pedals...one of the numerous features for which I bought it. Simple things the big 3 do not offer.

Best wishes

Your primary obligations is to the Church & the stewardship of the offerings made by the congregations. The STAR is not the best use of these funds. Especially a 4 year old model. Having worked on these Clones they are not as robust as the big 3. Please consider finding a local shop where you can purchase a cart with an extended warranty, our shop & others offer 6 months "Bumper to Bumper" on any used cart. Watch out for the street vendor & the "AS-IS" sale

Pretty and price do not quality necessarily make...I'm learning the hard way

the Sirius cart has got to many bells and whistles so for a church cart I would not recommend it.

I work for the only Star dealer here in town turning wrenches. We have seen a lot of warranty claims on the few Sirius carts in town. However I would recommend the 6 passenger Classic Star. I live in a golf cart community that has over 17000 carts registered for use on the multi-use path system in town. there are literally 1000's of Stars in use here.

I agree. From what I have heard from others about this brand, a good 90% wish they had of just spent the extra money on another brand.

I am looking at a Star myself. The main reason is I need an LSV so I can operate it without the restrictions of a golf cart. I have a local dealer but they only have new ones so I have been looking around for a used model. My concern has been what to look for in a used model. I know about battery age and maintenance but I am concerned with the parts. For all intents and purposes, these are just more generic golf carts, right? Meaning I can always change out a controller, etc without much trouble.
