12v constant for radio
Hey guys,
I hooked up my stereo a couple days ago. i couldnt find a 12v constant behind the dash on my star car. I have it hooked up to the spare 12v switched source but was wanting to have the constant up there for my memory on the radio. have you guys seen the schematics of where the constant is? |

Re: 12v constant for radio
Thanks. I checked everything I could see with my meter. I believe the power converter may come on with the key so I may be sol for the memory. That's why I was hoping someone had a schematic.

Re: 12v constant for radio
Is the 12 volt switched the green and black wire that are unused behind the dash? I have a 2008 star cart 36 volt.

Re: 12v constant for radio
One pole of your switch has to have constant power for 12V. Like was said before a DMM is your friend!
Be aware that most antennas will ground your radio to whatever you mount it to, so try and mount the antenna to a non conductive surface. |

Re: 12v constant for radio
I think you will have to get 12v from 2 of the batteries. The converter comes on with the key.

Re: 12v constant for radio
So if I do not have a constant supply of power what will I exactly lose? Would it just be the presets in the radio or the whole programming?

Re: 12v constant for radio
I'm working on one right now. There are only 2 poles being used on the switch, they show 50V when the key is off, 0V when on. The other pole doesn't do anything that I've found.
Any other ideas? I can get 12V from 2 batteries, but will that be okay? |
