Who makes Starr carts
In My 55 and over community l have been seeing more and more Starr carts..
What gives, most of them are bought used but a couple are new. They seem to be faster. (25mph+) And if they can hit 25+ mph don't they need different insurance? And maybe A license plate? Thanks Alan |

Re: Who makes Starr carts
Chinese made junk, distributed in the us by "j.h. Global". We used to be a dealer, those carts suck. We ordered them with 8x 6v and Curtis ac or dc sepex systems, the drive system and motor was the only decent thing on there. Kinda like putting a turbo on a Yugo, can be done, but why? If i was given one of them for free, i would trip over my own shoes trying to sell and rid myself of it.

Re: Who makes Starr carts
star cart is the best of the imports but the dealer has to go over the cart when they get it from j h global cause u got high school drop outs putting them together. but they r best bang for ur buck imho.

Re: Who makes Starr carts
They are not cheap and they ride higher and can reach 25 mph on the pro side but on the con side they can turn over more because of there top speed and the
higher center of gravity. Alan |

Re: Who makes Starr carts
There was quite a "discussion" on this brand at one time. I think it was when the government was giving out vouchers for them. Yep, that was pretty interesting. Glad that is over.

Re: Who makes Starr carts
Being that it goes 25 mph doesn't it need real insurance?

Re: Who makes Starr carts
I've had a Star for a few years, and yes got it practically free w the tax credit. I thank all of you who pay taxes.
It's held up well and I've pushed it hard. It's got most of the normal guts that you'll see in other carts. My Trojan batteries are still original, been on the trickle charger since day 1 and torque remains strong. This is an off road cart though...street versions may differ. Full thread here: |
