Can you edit a copy and paste?
The answer is yes so I will start a thread about big blocking with different engines. |

Re: Start of
jump in edit add deleat we can make this a primer for all the newbs.
A lot of questions are about installing a snowmobile, atv, motorcycle engine in carts. This section will try to give you some information about the pitfalls and some requirements to do so. BGW nor any of the contributers to this thread recomend these actions and the individual does so at their own risk. You will need an engine that turns in the correct direction,CW or CCW. If you want reverse you will need a cart that has forward and reverse in the trans axle or a reversing means at the engine. You will need a clutch that matches your crankshaft or an adapter of some kind. Consideration for cooling is a must, as is clearance for the intake and exhaust(most two stroke engines have tuned exhausts and run very poorly if modified. The cart will be fast and should have sound steering and suspension. Method of starting is a large problem if the stock clutch can not be used. Our sponsors offer big block kits that often cost less than a conversion ends up costing piecemeal. |

A comet found on ebay $50. A cradle homemade. a Muffler from Summit $50. A Belt $20. Mics $200 and I'm big blocked for less than $700 ..... It happens.... I would add the need for improved braking after increasing horsepower...... Well, that's my 2 cents |

Re: Start of
that often cost
You have better than average fab skills Dog so you were able to geter done cheaper. I agree about the added braking statement. I keep forgetting about this when newbs ask about big blocking. |
