Default 2010 Tomberlin Emerge Speed Sensor issues

I am currently getting a fault code on my Curtis controller. Manual states it's a speed sensor failure. Cart goes into limp mode, about 2 mph. If I power the cart down and back on it takes off fine and will run for a few feet, sometimes days. I have changed the speed senor 2 times and still having same issue. Ideas???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you scanned it? or just the flashing light off the controller? What code are you getting?

2 sensors and same thing? Chances are good its not the sensor then, or you have some other issue taking out the sensors.

Thanks for the response.

I am getting the 1-3 which is the speed controller fault. yep, actually 3 sensors and the same thing. I am thinking its may be a short or the controller.

How do you scan the controller?

You need a scan tool.

At this point that's what I would do. Speed sensors are not cheap and to toast 3 of them, not good

Hall effect sensor sounds like it is failing. When ever you get the handheld. Go to monitor and watch the throttle. I've seen them fail this way before.

What should I be watching for?

Since I have had the handheld I haven't had any issues, go figure.

Check the fault codes. Write them down. Clear the fault list. If it happens again, it will be easier to tell which fault is the culprit. You can also go into the monitor section and see what the throttle is registering.
