I was just wondering if anyone has replace their brakes on their Tombelin yet and if so how many miles did you have on your cart.

Did you find a fix?

my 2007 emerge has a loud rubbing noise coming from the front that goes away when I hit the brakes. Gets louder when I turn a corner. It seems to be coming from the front disc brakes. Also seems like the brake pads are so close to the disc that they rub all of the time.

I have heard of the following fixes on various forums.
1. recalled spring in the brake master cylindar (seems to be a very tight fit to access it)
2. the front brake sindles are bent, replace with 2008 version (I can't get anyone to give me a parts quote on it)

Thanks Swampsat.
Can you explain what you meant by "depends on wher the regen is set"?

Trying to keep this simple to under stand:

Its all in the way the controller is setup. Meaning that it programable thur the controller for more or less regen - more regen more braking power thur the controller and motor - less regen less braking power thur the controller and motor.

The controller cuts back on power which causes the motor to slow down. It does not apply the brakes on the cart. Just slowes the motor down.

Thanks for the help.
As a desperate test, I sprayed brake cleaner on the discs and the noise, which sounds like a seal barking, went away.

Any thoughts on where I shud start (cheapes fixes first) or what this means as to what could be causing the noise?

Is the master cylinder not pulling the pads back maybe?
Warped discs?
Bent rods that hold the brake shoes?

It could be time for new brakes and rotors after 4+ yrs.
You could take them apart and clean the pads and lube the pistons on the calibers. 2 pistons per caliber
