CDI
Anyone good or bad word on the Hunter works Tri-Fire plus CDI?
I got my Tires, wheels, floorplates and tip from them so I know the company is awesome. |

Re: CDI
The CDI box on mine I think came off of a Grizzly (it causes the reverse light to stay on continuously). I have never installed the factory CDI to compare. My Rhino will run almost 50 mph without the full windshield, if that helps. It also has a torque clutch kit which I would guess slows the top speed a little.

Re: CDI
From what Hunterworks says is that with the CDI and the Sheave you will get 58mph on stock tires. I think just the CDI was like 50mph. But from what I was always told and thought was CDI's were kinda dangerous by allowing your engine to run such higher RPMS.

Re: CDI
I think that the rhino engine can handle the raised rev limit and timing
change I think they just copied the grizzly timing and fixed the dash lite problems as for Hunterworks I believe Todd is as honest as they come he helped me out with my VDI that I purchased from him when there were issues!!! |

Re: CDI
just get the dynatech. most rhino companies sell them, it get rid of the foward and reverse limiter. I know that some of the early tri fire cdi boxes had problems. almost every rhino owners run a dynatech so just go with that!

Re: CDI
not dangerous at all. check rhinoforums.net . they can help u. the speed limiter was just a safety feature. why would the grizly have the cdi without the limiter if it was bad for the motor. you motor will be totally fine.

Re: CDI
I dont know about the 58 mph number. Im running a Black Rhino CDI with a grizzly sheave and only get 49 mph. I do run 27" tires, but it shouldnt be that much off. Most the people I talk to cant run 58 mph with just those two products. Most people have more done to their engine to go that fast.

Re: CDI
I agree with Doubletake. I doubt you'll see 58 from a cdi swap. I'm running about 50 tops with mine and that is pushing it on pavement.
