Back-up Light
Just out of curiosity could I disconnect my reverse buzzer and use that connection to power a back-up light?

Re: Back-up Light
yes and no
yes ... you would need a 36v/48v bulb NO ... the reverse buzzer is a safety device , not for you but for others to know your backing up you can add a lights to the system with a 36v/48v to 12v reducer from buzzer to reducer to a light (s) on the rear of the cart note: always post cart make, model, & volts |
Re: Back-up Light
You can do both, just add one of these relays:
http://www.mouser.com/Search/Product...55-T9AP1D52-48Connect the Relay coil (0.187" tabs) in parallel with the Reverse buzzer. You then just need to run the +12v positive wire to Your backup lights through the Normally Open (0.250" tabs) Relay contacts. |

So the buzzer is not a 12 volt part but actually 48 volt? I have a 95CC DS 48 volt. Thanks Sergio, just what I needed. I'm going to have to study this some so I understand it before I attempt it. |
Re: Back-up Light
crash, I already have a voltage reducer on the cart. I was wanting to figure out how I could run a wire from the F/R switch or the reverse buzzer just to turn a 12 volt light on in reverse.

Re: Back-up Light
you can just add this to the buzzer
Square 27W Super Duty High Powered LED Flood Light https://d114hh0cykhyb0.cloudfront.ne...jpg&w=300&zc=2 4.5 inch Square High Powered LED Flood Light. 6 x 4 Watt High Power Cool White LEDs. 10~70VDC operating voltage range https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...ight/992/2408/ or the cheaper one https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...ight/845/2110/ |
Re: Back-up Light
My only concern of not using a relay is the micro-switch burning out, some bright lights like the ones posted will draw more than 2 amps.
This is a picture I had posted helping someone else with a relay, it may help you visualize it better. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...connection.jpg |
Re: Back-up Light
Thanks for your help, I'm going to have to figure this out.

Well Sergio, I did what you said and it works perfectly! Just what I was wanting to do. Thanks Sergio and Crash for all your help. |
Re: Back-up Light
I've been looking at the relays - Confusion has set in - Is there a difference between a T9AP1D52-48 and a T9AP1D52-48-03 - Thinking of adding 2 12v LED light strips (6 lights each) to the back of my cart and wiring it to the back-up switch as well... Not good with wiring at all
