Auxiliary battery in Onward

I have a 48volt onward on order and plan to run a 12v auxiliary battery for lights, sound bar, etc. I did a lot of searching on this forum but am having trouble figuring out what size battery I can run and where to locate it. I'd really appreciate anyone sharing with me where you installed yours and which size battery you used so I can order parts before my cart arrives. Thanks in advance!

Hi,
onward has a built in voltage reducer with a 12 volt acc plug in the front rt wheelwell, why not use that?

Thanks for the response Cheenu. My understanding is its a relatively small reducer (15amp) and would not be enough for my 15amp sound bar plus some other lights I want to add.

I would look into upgrading the OEM 15A reducer to a 30A version.
I think it would cost less than adding a 12v battery and the extra hassle of charging it.
Also, the OEM reducer might be tapped off one or two batteries which is not ideal for charging the whole pack when one or two of the batteries are lower than the others.

I have bazooka party bar g2 with led lights (with 15 amp inbuilt fuse)connected to the factory reducer with no problems at full power.

Thanks cheenu....do you know if that factory reducer is running off 2 or all batteries?

You can easily tell if yours is running off 2 batteries, look for a wire tapped off the positive terminal of bat5.
My OEM reducer connected there.
There usually aren't any taps on any of the batteries between the main B+ (solenoid) and B- (controller) cables.
There may be something else on the last battery B+ terminal which is where I connect my reducer.
