EZGO TXT Parking Brake Adjustment with Ausco Discs

I having problems getting the parking break to set with new AUSCO mechanical discs. The breaks are set right, is tightening the cables some the answer. Concerned with the breaks pads too tight

I asked a very similar question regarding drum brakes. It should not be much different than the disc brakes since the linkage is the same. I have not gotten an answer so I don't think anyone here really knows how to do it.

Didn't your brake kit come with adjustment instructions ?

I would think that LENGTHENING the cables would allow the parking break to set correctly. I won't know for sure until this spring when I install and adjust my own set.

I feel pretty stupid now, I forgot there is only one nut to tightened that connects to the shaft for the pedal return spring, both cables are connected there. It was just too loose, I turned by hand a few threads and tested and retested, probably only 2 threads. The cables are still loose enough, it did not change the disc rub at all

There are service manuals in the stickies that have VERY detailed instructions for stock drum brakes. I don't recall your buggy, but this is the one I use:

I'm having a similar issue. When on jacks, I loosen the Ausco disc brakes just enough to where they are spinning freely. However, when back on the ground the brakes are way too loose and the parking brake barely locks. And even locked, you can still push the cart. Obviously the adjustment nut needs to be tightened but I'm afraid of tightening it because the pads will drag.

Just wondering how you like the disc brake set up. I'm looking at putting them on mine. Can you notice a big difference compared to the drums?

I see a big difference in the braking, I have had to adjust parking brake a few times and I jack the rear end up every now and then to check the to make the hubs run free and the clearance is good.

Beach, did you ever get the adjustment made satisfactory...just installed a set tonight on my TXT and at the point of adjustment...pedal pushes all the way to floor very easy and parking brake won't set. I added the extenders but can't adjust the cables due to brakes dragging, at least on jack stands. Trying to get an idea what I need to do to get more peddle and brake to set.

Thanks
