Headlight / taillight question.

My wife just went to move the golf cart and I noticed that when she hit the accelerator the tail lights lit up very dim with the pull switch off, just both rear led not the front which are not led. They work fine with the knob pulled on. I have the negative to the voltage reducer coming from last battery and 36v power coming from key switch. The kit came pre wired all I do is hook up power. They are barely lighting, but they are very dim. Never noticed it before. I don't want to hook it up directly to batteries because of kids around may play with it and leave it on and kill my batteries.

First, no frame grounds right? Do you have any 12v metal switches or parts touching the steering column or brake pedal? Do you have turn signals or brake lights, or only running lights? Trying to identify any ground. Also look for any of the small light system wires running parallel to the large high current cables, possible induced current. Try putting a standard brake lamp bulb on one side only, then observe what happens with both taillights.

They are just running lights, no turn signal or brake lights. I only have the ground coming from the last battery. I do have the wire running parallel to the rest of wires going under the cart. There doesn't really seem to be enough wire for me to move it any kind of distance away. The rear lights seem to glow when accelerator is pressed but when switch is pulled on they light up. Do you think this is drawing on the battery? If not ill leave it alone. If its a problem ill have to figure it out.
