1994 club car ds not running

i have a 1994 club car ds with brand new batteries in it. it doesn't run or even a click from the solenoid when you push the pedal. As soon as you jump the solenoid from large post to large post it takes off even with the key off and pedal still up. Does anyone have a clue what this may be or where to lead me

Tell us a bit more about the history of the cart. It should be a controller cart with no resistor coils. Is this correct?

Also, that cart is subject to take off any minute. At a minimum, jack the rear wheels off the ground and make sure it is in neutral.

What is the serial number on the cart? Please post some photos of the battery compartment and the resistor coils.

That is a pretty simple system to fix, do the following:
Raise one rear wheel off the ground for safety.
Turn the Key Switch ON.
Put the FNR in Forward.
Press the accelerator pedal down and keep it down.

Measure the voltage between the two Solenoid small posts.
If You have +36v, replace the Solenoid.

If You don't have +36v between the Solenoid small posts:

1994 with negative key Switch:
Measure the voltage between the Solenoid small post with Yellow wire (black meter probe) and pack positive battery post (red meter probe).
1995+ with positive Key Switch:
Measure the voltage between the Solenoid small post with Yellow wire (red meter probe) and pack negative battery post (black meter probe).

If You don't have +36v, replace the micro-switch in the FNR.

Otherwise:
1994 with negative key Switch:
Measure the voltage between the Solenoid small post with the Green wire (red meter probe) and the pack negative battery post (black meter probe).
1995+ with positive key Switch:
Measure the voltage between the Solenoid small post with the Green wire (black meter probe) and the pack positive battery post (red meter probe).

If You don't have +36v, replace the micro-switch inside the VGlide.

Here is the 1995 (positive key switch) wiring diagram for reference:

Go to: ADVANCED>MANAGE ATTACHMENTS>UPLOAD FILE>POST

The reason I asked for the serial number and photo is because every 1994 Club Car I have ever seen has a controller.

The 36v VGlide resistor model was available in 1994, but now that You mentioned, that was the odd ball year when some Club Car engineer decided to have a negative key switch using a red wire

I will edit the original post to include the colors for the early 1994 negative key switch to be safe

What were your voltage results from the tests above?
