Ez-Go 400 and 400 Electromatic wiring diagrams
 

I am going to do the best I can to post these to help someone else in the future that may want to fix 1 of these carts.
A LOT of changes took place in the wiring and setup of these carts over the short time they were built. The first were 5 speed carts and the later 1's were 4 speed.
There is a chance 1 or 2 of these postings are the same diagram.If so moderators are welcome to do as they see fit to fix the situation.
I got these from books bought off ebay a few weeks ago.

I have 3 owners manuals for the 400 . 2 for the 400 B and 1 for the 400 H,although it is missing a page or 2 and the diagram is gone from it.

Looks like I'll have to break out the Crayolas and trace some current paths to figure out how these things work. :mrgreen:

The key is figuring out which contacts are closed on the accelerator switch.
What is it, a multi-bank rotary switch?
Or what was known as an encoder back in that era? (PC board with different length traces laid out in a circle and a movable wiper arm with multiple brushes.
Pictures of it would be nice. :mrgreen:

Looks like F and R are incorporated into the keyswitch.

Looks like two 18V battery packs that are connected in series for charging.

Yea, I will scan a page sometime soon that explains the speeds. i think I typed it up on the 400 thread i have how this thing worked. it is 2 motors in 1.

I think the key switch for direction is nice.
There is a column of micro switches that are activated when the pedal is pushed. I think there may be a photo on that 400 thread as well.EDIT, yes,post 50 has a photo of the switch box for the accelerator.

Took a look at post#50. The mechanics of the switch makes sense now.
It is a cam switch and I've seen them before. :thumbup:

Hi, I have a mid 80's western ez-go that has what they call overdrive, and the wires were removed when I purchased it. Is there any possibility you would have a wiring diagram for this feature?
