Asking for a friend, what is top speed

Disclaimer, my only experience is my EZGO TXT48.

Again with a question about my friends Club Car. I looked up the serial number and it is a Precedent I2 Excel 48v (2010).

The question is what is the top speed it can be programmed to with just the stock oem controller?

The shop she took it to reduced the regenerative braking as was asked for. Though the request was reduce it to zero regen breaking. It's less than it previously was, but not zero.

He was also requested to set it to top speed, which he said was between 18-22mph. When it was returned top speed is 13-14mph. On a telephone call to him he said it would cost $400 and have to go to someone else to do.

I'm guessing he is not a true Club Car service center. As in, maybe he doesn't have the hand held computer to set the controller.

1. What is the top speed the stock controller can be set to?

2. What do you make of his response regarding setting the speed higher?

Thanks
Mike

I believe top speed with the stock controller setting is 19.6 mph. The cost I hear associated with this is usually closer to $100 than $400. Any Alltrax controller will allow the user or any dealer to set zero regen and 22-23mph is standard on stock wheels and tires

...or for $275 can do this to bump it 20+mph. Depending upon motor.

Re: Asking for a friend, what is top speed

Thanks. I thought it should be able to do 19.x mph. I'm going to encourage her to find somewhere else to get her cart taken care of. Problem is she's in a small Texas town with very limited golf cart servicers.

Thanks again.
