What year is my cart - Serial number Guide for Club Car Caroche Golf Carts

Club Car "Caroche" models from 1970 to 1980 have the number located under the driver's seat on a metal tag
riveted to the the I-Beam located just inboard of the drivers side batteries.

If your serial starts with the letter K or L it is a Caroche with hydraulic brake systems and Dico brakes.

If your serial starts with the letter M or N it is a Caroche with hydraulic brake systems and Mercury brakes.

Numbers after the letters in the serial number denotes the year model.

346 - 1335 will be a 1970 manufactered between 01/21/70 to 12/30/70

1336 - 2492 will be a 1971 manufactered between 01/13/71 to 11/03/71

2493 - 3919 will be a 1972 manufactered between 03/07/72 to 11/03/72

3920 - 5746 will be a 1973 manufactered between 01/05/73 to 11/27/73

5747 - 7834 will be a 1974 manufactered between 01/14/74 to 12/06/74

7838 - 11198 will be a 1975 manufactered between 01/01/75 to 12/10/75

11199 - 16148 will be a 1976 manufactered between 01/05/76 to 12/28/76

16149 - 21276 will be a 1977 manufactured between 01/03/77 to 12/30/77

21277 - 29170 will be a 1978 manufactured between 01/04/78 to 12/30/78

29171 + will be a 1979 manufactured between 01/08/79 to 12/29/79

Again, this is for the Club car CAROCHE model golf cart produced between 1970 through 1979. 1980 + have a different serial number guide. I have more guides coming in the future.

Serial number guide for 1980 up electric club cars.

The first letter denotes the MODEL, second set of digits is the year and the last set is the week of production. The actual serial number is just a production sequence and doesn't mean anything to us.


Lets break the number down: A8516 would be:

A = "DS Electric Golf Car"
85 would be 1985
16 would be the 16th week of production...So it would be a 1985 DS Electric Golf cart

• AB= DS Electric Golf Car, 36 Volt System
• AC= DS Electric Golf Car, 48 Volt Regen
• AQ= Electric I.Q. Golf Car, 48 Volt Regen
• B= Chassis Only, Electric Golf Car, 48 Volt
• C= Electric Industrial Vehicle
• D= Fairway Villager, 4-Passenger Utility Vehicle
• CQ= Chassis, Indio 48 Volt I.Q. Utility Vehicle
• E= Carryall II Electric Utility Vehicle
• EA= Carryall II Electric Pickup Utility Vehicle
• F= Carryall I Electric Utility Vehicle
• FA= Carryall I Electric Pickup Utility Vehicle
• FQ= Villager 4 I.Q. Utility Vehicle
• H= Turf 1 Electric Utility Vehicle
• HA= DS Electric 36 Volt Solid State Utility Vehicle
• JA= Carryall VI Electric Utility Vehicle
• K= Resort Villager Electric Utility Vehicle

• LX = Lynx Hunting Vehicle (Gas & Electric)
• M= Resort Villager XL Electric Vehicle
• PQ= Precedent IQ
• S= Turf 2 Electric Utility Vehicle
• T= Tourall / Villager 4 Electric Utility Vehicle
