Hey smallblock450sl,
Thanks for the post for engine, ignition, and minor electrical swaps. It is helpful and I understood it. *L*
I need some opinions, I have a G1 I bought and decided I wanted something newer with more options to lift. I bought a G8 with a bad motor and swapped a Duramax 18Hp into it cutting the crank and using the factory clutch. It blew up with probably 30 Hours on it. Back to square 1.
Would you rebuild the original motor or would you replace it with a pressurized BB.

Thanks for your input. Going cheap got me in this position. Can't break the bank but need to do it RIGHT!

Has anyone swapped a g29 engine into a g9?
I'm thinking of replacing the g29 with a 402 Yamaha, and would love to put it in the g9.

Well, G29 was produced from 2007-2016, and never featured a 402cc engine. I have put a G16 motor in a G9 (externally identical to the motor that was offered in G29). It's a tight squeeze & requires significant fabrication.

Well, the 402cc is in. Love the new drive.
Now about that 357cc that's sitting on the bench...
How significant of fabrication?

Came across this "sticky" and getting great information. I'm doing a G5 engine swap into a G8. Any advice or information how how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Swapping engines/G2/G9/G8/G14

Recently purchased a yamaha g14 that wouldn't run, just spit and sputtered. After messing with it for awhile I found the cart has been swapped with a j38 engine. I have the g14 ignitor, it has the correct ignition coil, but has the j38 flywheel that I know won't work with the g14 ignition. After looking at the pulsar coil its for a g2 and has been spliced for the g14 connection. Does this need to be replaced or will it work? Can't find a g14 pulsar anywhere. Thanks

I have a g14 with this Frankenstein of a motor I'm finding out. I have to have my crank journal taken down, is there undersized plane bearings available? I haven't found anything yet?
