kf 82 weak spark
 

I am troubleshooting a friends cart that I think is a 91. I think. It does have the old kf82 engine like my '86. Do all these NOT have the igniter or a rev limiter? This thing has a very weak spark and will not fire at all. Just turns over. I tested the coil wires from the engine. Have not seen where the rev limiters and igniters are placed "if" they were added to the old engines. Only a 3 wire plug coming out of the block. Pulser was fine but exciting reads low. I believe the book says a reading from 350 to 360, not sure without having it on me. But I am getting 328. Which i would imagine to be the issue. And can anyone tell me where to find one. They were discontinued according to a few places I have called.

no ignitor but if it has a limitor it should be mounted right on top of the coil.......chances are theres just the coil and the exitor coil and since theres no real way to bench test them if the connector is good and clean where the 2 plug together i would start with the coil only because its much easier to get to and a bit cheaper..............................8)
