1982 DS missing throttle linkage
Just replaced the F&R switch and now the primary (main) solenoid. Cart no longer goes full throttle forward/ reverse when the cart is on. :)
Now I can't get the cart to go at all. I looked underneath and there is no cable/ rod connected to the spring that is connect to the throttle. What part do I need and where do I connect it? Main solenoid? |
Re: 1982 DS missing throttle linkage
Oh and I have micro switches at the other side

Re: 1982 DS missing throttle linkage
Can you post a pic, Tex? Not sure but the 82 CC may have had a box of micro switches at the end of the gas peddle .... and just wire connections from there.

Re: 1982 DS missing throttle linkage
You are correct. It has the micro switches. I had to put some in as the old ones were partially ripped out, and it appears the person also took the cable out that connects them to the throttle pedal. The cable is what I need. Looks like it hooks to a "nipple" on the micro switch box. I can post a pic tomorrow if you still need
Second question. I replaced the master solenoid today. I manually moved the plate in the micro switches, with the key on and engaged. I hear clicking but the cart doesn't move. What are the chances the master solenoid, which is brand new is bad or the speed assembly, also new, is bad? Am I asking to many questions? |

Re: 1982 DS missing throttle linkage
Sorry it only let me load one picture at a time
As you can see there is a nipple on the speed assembly and one on the throttle pedal assembly, below the car. I am not sure the cable and mounting to connect the two |
Re: 1982 DS missing throttle linkage
I thought it was connected with a rod? the micro switches are triggered by a white plastic slider... I think that requires a push toward the rear of the cart (by a rod) to activate the solenoids... Chances are you have a bad micro switch (MS) or 2 in that box.

Re: 1982 DS missing throttle linkage
. . . looks like the entire accelerator rod assembly is missing . . . it is an adjustable rod that connects the two ball studs together . . . it is probably a 5 piece assembly including a connector on each end, rod and locknuts . . . should be able to get one at local CC dealer or one of the site sponsors may have it . . .

Re: 1982 DS missing throttle linkage
What is the best way to test those micro switches?
I think I am going to test all solenoids today as well |
Re: 1982 DS missing throttle linkage
Is this the correct linkage for the throttle pedal?

Re: 1982 DS missing throttle linkage
I keep looking and looking....
Any chance this is the part? http://www.diygolfcart.com/Club-Car-...bly-p/4810.htm I can't picture how it would connect but maybe I am missing something |

here is a link to an accelerator rod, item #4839 on the page: Accelerator Rod Assembly - item 4839 If you look at item #4841, you will see what is on each end . . it is spring loaded and will "clamp" on the ball studs at their smallest diameter to capture and hold on to them . . . . . . your biggest problem is finding one for your 1982. . . maybe CC dealer or dealer "bone yard". . . this will at least give you an idea of what it looks like . . . |
Re: 1982 DS missing throttle linkage
Thanks guys. I ended up pulling a part from a "bone-yard" then had to take it to a machine shop to cut it down to size. Tried it out today and looks like it will work. Took a while but we got there.
