my first post and just bought my first golf cart.
Its a 1999 EZ go with a 24hp evolution v-twin honda motor, baja front end, 4link rear end coils all 4 cornors, new interior, nice rims and tires.
I took it to the desert the other week and it went up everything i could throw at it (very happy)
1st question, i was told and have read with my motor conversion my cart should do close to 40mph.
It has no governator and when i gps ed it i can up with 33.7 everytime.

do i need taller gears in the rear end?
What should i do to get more speed?

2nd question is my clutch engages right when i hit the gas,its make it real touchy in reverse, is there a way to adjust the clutch, i was told it has an aftermarket snowmobile clutch with bigger belt.
Let see if i can post some pics.

Nice cart! 33.7mph sounds about right, It depends on what size of tires you have. to go faster you'll need either to spin the engine faster or a gear change. A gear change can be as simple as putting taller tires on, or installing high speed gears. To spin the engine faster you'll need to advance the timing and maybe beef up the valve train. I'm guessing on the honda valve train, but you would need to with a briggs engine.

You should ask Tom about your clutch, Most good aftermarket clutches can be adjusted.
