87 gas ezgo top end run problem

Well i've soaked the carb three time now and no help in the area of the engine runninng any better. Still runs at a walk no matter what i do. I'm starting to think the compression my be to low and i have internal problems. The engine runs. Doesn't smoke alot. Makes no load noises. Has to warm up a mintue to run at it's best. I installed the shorter belt..44" and no difference. Have replaced the fuel lines and tried without the fuel filter with no difference. I guess i'm ready to say uncle and take it to a pro. Maybe an actual 2cycle engine mec can help...i'm sure not any closer to solving this problem and i promised the grand kids it would be ready for them to use holloween night. Maybe next year at this rate. Thanks guys for your help so far i.m just not seeing something i should.

define "soaked the carb" - these carburetors need to be disassembled and the jets thoroughly cleaned out for any type of cleaning to work. Here's a diagram of the "usual suspects" (which I have circled) - remove the carb and disassemble it, making sure that ALL the circled jets, needle valve, etc are thoroughly clean and free from gunk, deposits, etc and I'd be willing to bet you'll be back in business

After you do the full disassembly and cleaning, then we can look at other issues - your symptoms definitely fit with either a plugged jet or jets though

This is what i did. I used the diagram and completely disassembled it three times. Soaked it in carb cleaner, used a fine wire cleaning set i have and ran through each hole and then re-soaked, blew it out , let it dry, put back together with the same results each time. I sure hate to buy another one. Do you think a rebuild kit would be worth trying at this stage? Also does any one have an old used steering wheel? Broke mine,,,,don't ask !!! My rear still hurts from the fall.

ALSO ITEM 15 IN THE DIAGRAM ,,,IS THE TOP HOLE SUPPOSE TO GO ALL THE WAY THROUGH OR JUST THE BOTTOM 2 SMALL HOLES AT THE BASE OF IT SHOULD BE OPEN AND CLEAR. MINE THE TOP HOLE WHERE YOU PUT THE SCREW DRIVER HEAD TO INSTALL IT IS PLUGGED AS IF THAT IS THE WAY IT WAS MADE BUT THE BOTTOM TWO ARE CLEAR AND FREE OF ANY OBSTRUCTION,:help:
