Adding weight
I'm thinking about adding a piece of railroad iron to the front frame of my 2008 Yamaha YDR to increase stability and keep the front tires on the ground while turning with 4 passengers. Has anyone here tried this? Good idea or bad?

Did you ever try the railroad iron? I have a few pieces and was wondering about trying it too.

I don't know what you guys are experiencing,(my car is old) but I would stiffen the suspension at all 4 corners if I had to, rather than add weight to a cart!!
My second choice would be wheel spacers, but I'm not a fan of those either!! Having a skinny car is a good thing where I ride!! |
I was thinking hd rear spring would help but others said it didn't make much if any difference.

Mine used to lean a lot in corners, I shimmed the springs on the front shocks, and it stopped the lean all together!! But I don't think you guys can do this, with out running into coil bind!!

Put some water in the front tires, to weight it down some. Like they do on the tractors

there was talk about adding weight inside the wheel but with some of our carts that go 30 it really would/could throw off the balance of the tire. I don't think the manufacturer has put enough machining into these rims for a really great balancing wheel tire combo.
