48V solenoid on a 36V
Will a 48v solenoid work OK on a 36V DCS.

Re: 48V solenoid on a 36V
It may or may not. The primary side (small wires) may not have enough draw to pull the contactor in. The Secondary side (large cables) doesn't care what the voltage is (within reason).

Thanks G man. the local EZGO shop says they do it on all thier upgrades. They use the 48 as thier HD solenoid:shock: What do you think?

Try it, it won't HURT the solenoid.

Re: 48V solenoid on a 36V
You have to make sure it is a high amp 48 volt solenoid, if not, it could get stuck in the closed position .

Got a 400A on mine and it works fine. No problems so far.

Re: 48V solenoid on a 36V
What makes you think you need a 48v solenoid on your 36v DCS cart in the first place?
Why? What are you trying to accomplish? |
Re: 48V solenoid on a 36V
Thinking I might upgrade to 48v in future. I am now trying to find the best price for the DCX400 for DCS. Thought I'd re-do the Solenoid while I was there changin the Controller.

Probably best to wait and change it all at once
