Voltage Reducer wiring through Key Switch
Can anyone point me to the correct way to hook up a voltage reducer through the key switch if I do not have the remote wire?
And I just run the positive side through it before going to the battery? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Voltage Reducer wiring through Key Switch
Due to the potential amp draw of the reducer, you should probably utilize a relay that is powered by the key switch. The key switch is not rated for a load that exceeds more than a couple amps.

I think so but I would order from the site sponsors since I know for a fact they sell the right ones. IIRC, Carts unlimited and Revolution both carry them.

If your are going to install a Relay, then you need to read these two posts which have lots of great information for a similar application:

Re: Voltage Reducer wiring through Key Switch
Our new blue reducer has the keyswitch on/off plus it has a low voltage radio memory lead
We offer it with or without the 6 place fuse panel and negative grounds bus bar. |
