36v TXT voltage reducer wiring help

I have searcehed some of the previous threads but have not found what I am looking for. I am attempting to install a Madjax brand 36v - 12v 30amp voltage reducer (link).

Here is my problem, where do I get the switched 36v + power from?
I checked the key switch and I does not show 36v. It is the standard 2 position on-off switch with two poles on the back, one yellow wire and one white wire. everything on the cart works as it should.

:help:
Other cart Info:
2007 TXT 36v
dash mount F-N-R switch
no factory lights
key switch is simple On-Off

thanks

I've done it but can't remember right now where I got the switched power from. I'll look when I get home a respond if you haven't gotten an answer for someone else.

The challenge is that the cart is off each time it goes into neutral. Did you test the key with the F&R in gear?

No I did not try it with the FNR switch in gear. So if I do it that way the accessories will cut off if change gears. That won't work.

Re: 36v TXT voltage reducer wiring help

I replaced my two position key switch with a three position key switch. Off, on, on with accessories. Since I was buying a new switch anyway, I opted for a uniquely keyed switch. Note, my reducer has a remote on, which is low amperage. If your reducer doesn't have that feature, you may have to use a relay, to keep from exceeding the key switch's rating.

It has a remote on or as they call it + input from key switch.

I tried with the switch and still no 36v

Why not buy a three position key switch, or simply add a toggle switch? I ran a dedicated 48v to mine.

You've got a PDS and in a stock PDS, the controller supplies voltage to the keyswitch, and all the other control switches, plus the solenoid.

In a series cart and in a DCS cart, voltage is lost to the keyswitch when the F/R switch is in Neutral, but I'm not sure if it does in a PDS.

I believe all that is need to get voltage to the keyswitch from the PDS controller, is Battery voltage on J1 Pins 4 & 5 and the Run/Tow switch in the Run position.

The voltage from the controller to the keyswitch should be on the White wire and the switched voltage would be on the White/Yellow wire.
