Trying to figure out year of G1
 
Hey guys i read about the tag that is riveted to rear bumper of G1 having serial number stamped on it i took mine off cleaned it a bit wit a 3m pad and it looks like it was never stamped at all it is not pitted at all jus seams like it was never stamped has anyone ever seen this and is there any other way 2 figure out year of my cart?

On a g1, its behind the bumper, stamped directly into the steel (no aluminum plate). The whole number is 4-5" long, shouldnt be hard to find with a flashlight & a rag. Also could be stamped between the rear shocks when rear body flipped up.

Hey guys sorry to keep bringing this up but i still can not find a serial number on my G1 cart. I has it striped down to frame sitin on horses bout half way thro custom 8" lift and all i can find on frame is on the rear shock tube the is a sticker that says made in china i believe but that is all if any body can help me out tryin 2 figure out year of this cart i would really appreciate it thanks guys.

It will be stamped in the rectangular shaped tube right behind the bumper next to where the bumper mounts.

Picture in bottom right hand corner shows approximate location.

Some of the earlier ones 79 80 81 have the serial numbers on the round tube between the rear shocks. You can roughly tell what year it is by the stock primary clutch on it and the type of front spindles. Take a pic of the clutch and front spindles and post it.

I looked everywhere for my vin, to no avail. Found mine on the engine ( assuming its the original)

Boy i looked preety good on that square tube i didnt see anything stamped. I will take a picture of the clutch cover and post it tho if that will help. I also found numbers on my block and i tryed looking them up on the sticky but i didnt find a direct match.

The numbers casted on the block are
J1000
215CC
I am assuming that that the 215 is size but didnt know it the J1000 stood for anything

No other numbers after the J10 00 ?
