Drive Belt
Changed the starter brushes in my 2015 precedent and the drive belt wont turn in operate mode. It turns in maintenance mode but not operate mode. Starter belt turns fine.

Re: Drive Belt
It won’t try or try’s but doesn’t spin? Sounds like a bad ground.

Re: Drive Belt
In Maintenance Mode, everything spins. In Operate Mode, the pulleys all spin and the belt attempts to move but never does.

Re: Drive Belt
The pulley spins when you hit the pedal but the belt doesn’t move ? Is the belt tight
Edit Okay starter belt moves but drive belt doesn’t. Is the engine starting? |
Re: Drive Belt
no. Friend of mine (away with family) mentioned the starter gets up to a certain RPM then the drive belt takes over. Said it sounded like it wasn't getting enough RPMs to get the drive belt going. but of course he couldn't be sure as we were just trying to trouble shoot over the phone.

Re: Drive Belt
Starter belt spins to start the engine then once it starts it will turn the starter into a generator to charge the battery. Sounds like yours isn’t starting. I would look for disconnected wires and check for spark. Take the drive belt off so the cart won’t move and see if it will start in forward or reverse

Re: Drive Belt
checked all wires (originally thought I put something back on wrong) and replaced spark plug (old one needed to be replaced anyway.)

Re: Drive Belt
Check the throttle cable where it attaches to the brackets that hold the cable on the engine and on the transmission.

Re: Drive Belt
What should I check for on the throttle cable?
