KF82 to a FE250D

Hello I am new to carts and am in the need of some info. I have a 1989 CC/ the KF-82 flat head that is knocking and have a offer to buy a FE250D Kawasaki to replace it. Now I think the FE is a 2002 engine will this work in my cart or should I just rebuild the KF82? I do know that the exhaust is different and the air box is different but I am not sure if the new Engine has the same rotation.Any Help would be greatly appreciated Thanks
