2004 TXT differential pan doesn't want to drop.

Had some free time and the cart has been sitting a few days so I figured changing out the 8-year-old stock oil in the differential would be a good idea. Removed all the bolts and this thing seems to be glued pretty tight. Tried getting a razor blade in there to separate the two and it won't go anywhere. Is there a trick to this?

I took a straight screw driver and wedge it in there then kept working a area till it came free. It bent some but i bent it back on a flat piece of wood. Used silicone to put it back and all is well no leaks so far and i park on concrete.

I had wedged a small screw driver in there with the help of a rubber mallet but it began to bend so I quit. Might have to keep truckin' along.

They never do want to come off, stuck on there with glue! I use a flat wood chisel driven in on one corner to pry it down ... then flatten the edge, clean up the gasket area, (wire wheel on the bench grinder works good for this) apply RTV silicone, add oil, & reinstall

I'm about to do this also. My plan was to use a putty knife.

everyone has their own tool. i use a thick (about 1/16) hardened gasket scraper that has steel running thru the handle so you can tap on it. ancient old thing.

After the second chisel with the flat head, the pan wanted to drop on it's own.

wide metal putty knife and hammer around the edge worked for me

I placed my on jack stands use a putty knife careful not to bend pan. It came off, the real trick is getting fluid back in.i find if u can tilt the cart at an angle u can put more fluid back in diff.
