Wiring issue on 2010 Shelby

FYI - I got a 2010 Shelby and had trouble blowing fuses on the wiper motor, etc. Tom at ADA Electric Cars found out the wiper motor was shorting the 12V to ground and that somehow, when you set the cart in motion, it jacks everything up to 24V. Blew the fuses in the radio and in the fuse box; a few lamps; etc.

You can isolate the wiper motor, but the real problem is one side of the harness in the headliner was wired backwards - red went to black; black went to red. You can slide your meter probe into wiper motor side of the connector - next to each contact, extract the pins, and wire it straight thru. Works great.

Hmmm. That wasn't it. It seems the problem is upstream farther. Switching the wires just resulted in the ground getting grounded - and apparently its a floating ground for some reason and, reversing them, causes the ground wires to get hot (grounds are not fused). Weird. It all works good until you take off the parking break and start the motor turning. Its like the 12V output of the inverter goes nuts then. Any ideas would be great....

Can you help me understand something? You state everything works fine until you take the handbrake off and start the motor turning. What happens if you just release the hand brake and nothing else?

It was fine then too - when you touch the gas things would go weird. I finally had Ala Cart Golf in Richland, WA pick it up. They worked with the Tomberlin folks and found out the AC controller was shorting to the chassis. That along with the w/w motor being shorted to chassis was putting weird voltages back on my 12V power. I guess the wires are supposed to be reversed at the w/w motor so if a fault occurs, the fuses blow. Its all better now - thanks to Tomberlin and Ala Cart. Ala Cart is now adding a couple bells and whistles for me....

Speaking of Richland, I just missed my tee time at Horn Rapids.............looks too cold today to get out.
