G1 crank bearings
Hello, im rebuilding a g1 , should the bearings be installed in engines cases first? Or put on the crank first? Im thinking of putting them in the cases first , heated up, thanks.

Re: G1 crank bearings
1. Freeze bearings and crank overnight
2. Heat cases up in bbq on clean tray for 10 min on high 3. Take cases out of bbq and install bearings, drop right in 4. Let them all cool 20 min 5. Reheat cases with new bearings for 10 min on high 6. Remove cases and install cold crank, fits right together 7. Before pressing/bolting together use proper sealant on cases 8. Press/bolt together but don't torque bolts 9. Let cool to room temp and torque bolts Good luck! |
