PB6 Wiring Help Needed

2 Attachment(s)
Evening guys,

I'm redoing a cart with the alltrax sr series, sw202, f/r switch, and a PB6 0-5k throttle. I'm having trouble understanding the wiring after the forward reverse switch connecting to the PB6. First there are two diode symbols after the forward reverse switch. Am I supposed to wire in two diodes here. The second part of my issue is the PB6 has 3 wires (4 reduced to 3 at the weatherproof connector). Blue, Red, Black. The Blue/Black works the micro and the Red/Black works the throttle. The diagram shows four wires with one going back to the main solenoid. I have the Red/Black wired to the controller. Not sure how to hook up the blue.

Sergio would be the one to ask about that setup.

I'm curious: What cart/motor do you have?

Let me go look at my setup and I'll let you know.

I'm almost positive it's doesn't matter which wire goes to which throttle pin. Just connect one to J5 and one to J4. If it doesn't work, switch them around. There's no voltage flowing through them.

Here's some pictures to help with the SW202.

The diodes are needed on a SPDT FNR so the pedal micro-switch only gets power if the FNR is in either Forward or Reverse.

You don't need the diodes if you are using a DPDT switch for FNR.

That Chinese PB-6 clone throttle will not work "as is" for your cart.

It looks like the connector is wired to work with the Chinese Kelly controller 0-5v throttle.

I think the pedal micro-switch is wired in line with the 5v input to the Potentiometer high side.

Do not connect +48v to that connector or you will fry your Controller.

You need to run new wires directly to the Potentiometer and to the micro-switch.

Make sure you also wire all 3 wires on the Potentiometer and the set the Controller to a "Club Car" 3-wire throttle.

Thanks Guys,

It's the shell of a 85' Club Car.... but that's it.

I'll split the wiring from the throttle, isolate the micro and test it with the multimeter to ensure I'm not passing any voltage to the throttle side.

I did buy the buggies unlimited DPDT FNR so thank you for that one also.

The controller configuration I got was "Throttle Type: 0-5K 2-Wire". I noticed on the throttle diagram the throttle 3rd wire was unused. I know which two wires would show 0-5K on the meter, so why wouldn't I use those two wires as the J4,J5 and leave the configuration as a 2 wire?

Thanks again

For a new pot box like you have it would be more of a personal preference, I like the 0-5v signal from a 3-wire throttle setup (J4=High,J5=Wiper,B-=Low) as any possible future "corrosion" between the wiper and the pot resistance track would result on a smaller voltage (less speed) while on a 0-5k throttle it would increase the throttle signal.
