2013 Ezgo Rxv handle code help! Throttle wiper/brake wiper
 

I am working on 2013 rxv. Bought a Curtis handheld 1313-4331 to hookup to cart to get the codes. The codes and I am getting are brake wiper and throttle wiper. The cart starts it’s self test when you turn the key on but will not do anything. I read some other threads that had same problem but never seen a solution. I have swapped the control out with another controller and nothing changed.

Have you checked the throttle pot & brake switches? Yes, the controller will shut it down if it fails any of the self tests. That's what they are for. Just imagine the cart going full acceleration/ no brakes as soon as you turned it on?!

Here's the discribtion of the self test:


Understanding the Power-up Sequence

The car will perform the following checks during the first
second of initial key - on.
• Electric brake check – Controller tries to rotate the motor
¼ turn in both directions.
• Reverse alarm check – Controller sounds the alarm for
100ms.
• Charger inhibit check – Controller checks the charge
receptacle for connection to the charger.
• Throttle switch check – Throttle switch must be open to
pass the start up test.
• Throttle position sensor – Controller checks the TPS for 0%
throttle.
• Throttle operation check – Controller checks the TPS for the
correct open and closed range.

The car will not run if the controller detects a problem
with any of the circuits above.

You're into the 5v part of the controller with those two faults here is the troubleshooting guide.

90% of the time it's lying about what's wrong. Oftentimes a bad speed sensor in the motor (also part of the 5V bus) can trip one of these codes. I spent months on a few trying to figure that one out!

Tested the volts going to brake sensor and I am not getting 5 volts.

Sounds like you have a bad controller. Do you have another controller you can put in the cart to see?

I changed the controller with one I bought from a guy that he said was good and still the same thing

See if you got 5v on pin 15. That sends the voltage to the brake and throttle sensors.

I am getting 4.96 volts on wire 15
