Battery Replacement for TXT

I am having some trouble determining the correct battery that should be used in my EZGO TXT. The cart I just purchased the battery was shot and I need to get it replaced. The one that was in the cart was some kind of hack job and I am sure it isn't the correct size or type.

Looking though the threads I have seen several different answers for this same question. And if I google outside of this forum I also see even more answers to this question.

I am looking for the correct or must common battery size as well as the type (Starting/Cranking vs. Deep Cell). At the moment the only thing the battery is used for is to start and run the lights on the cart. I will probably also install a stereo at some point down the road. I have also seen several mention a series 70 or a series 26 battery, both of which I am having trouble finding in stock even at wally world.

So what battery do most of you use? Size and Type?

Thanks

26G is stock. I have put 27, 29 and 31s in there but they require a little trimming. I also use a battery strap to be on the safe side. My daughter relocated one to the passenger side one time when she flipped the cart..

Thanks, Do you know if it is a standard "starter" type battery or more of a Deep Cycle battery?

I have a deep cycle Optima.. It works fine.. These things don't pull a lot of amps..

You can buy a 27/29/31 in a starter/deep cycle configuration but the stock battery is just a starter. Last one I used was a refurbished one from Interstate. Group 31 catapiller.. It has no problems spinning that starter.
