G29 engine removal/installation

So last week at work we received a G29 extended car, with 3 forward and 1 back (rear seat kit) making 8 seats total. It's not a factory car, but it was done right and cleanly. When they cut the car to extend it they heavily reinforced the frame, and they didn't skip on quality. The situation is the engine on the car is not in good shape..by doing a compression test it only reads around 30 pounds.

Because we now own this car, we decided instead of messing around with it and opening it up we would just throw in a new engine. Removing it in terms of removing bolts and stuff is not the issue, but my question is for those of you who have done this several times, I was wondering if there are any tricks or tips to keep in mind so it goes easily? Typically where I work we would never be doing this, but we determined if we did it would definitely bring decent money because this kind of car is pretty sought after.

Also, I do not have access to an engine hoist or anything like that, but we do have a fork lift of course. I don't think the motor weighs 100 pounds either, but if you guys know of the best way to drop/lift it out I would appreciate the info

thanks:thumbup:

Of course, it's going to be easier with the body removed. I use a small chain hoist to save my back...

If they haven't added anything to hinder motor removal, you can have that motor out in 20 minutes. Weighs 50 pounds, so no big deal on lifting it out. Its a simple job

Thanks to everyone for the input. How many bolts actually hold the motor in place?
