2003 Ezgo TXT something stuck

As soon as you touch the gas pedal the cart starts moving. It does it in forward or reverse. When coasting down hill it feels like the (transmission, rear differential) never release and allows the cart to coast. Both clutches seem to be working correctly. I can't find any thing on the forum about this problem. Anyone ever have this happen?

What you are describing are clutch(es) that are not shifting. If this is a new cart to you then the belt may be too short or too wide. If this is something that has happened over time then you have a clutch not down shifting and/or getting stuck. With the symptoms you are talking about it will be the clutch on the motor.

With the engine off you should see a gap between the sides of the belt and the sides of the engine or primary clutch. That indicates that it has released. It may be worn enough to not do so, or that the spring has failed.

You were correct ORTitan. The primary clutch was not opening up. I removed the clutch and messed with it a little and it started working. Blew it out with compressor and put it back together. Is there any kind of cleaner or lubricant I can spray it with? Thanks for the help!!

I am pretty sure the stock clutch wants to run dry. No lube. If you decide to give it a little don't use much. Often if it is sticking it is either contamination like you found or wear. Check to see if the moveable part has worn the bushing enough to get cocked on the shaft of the fixed side.

A graphite lube works good. Usually something called Dry Slide, or Moly-lube.
