what is the best and simplest way to test a coil? when the engine is turning over there is fire to one of the wires going to the coil.

Re: coil test
What year is your cart? My knowledge is strictly limited to 1992 (PG series) and earlier

Re: coil test
The manual says test for the coil is 3.7 > 5.2 ohms between the primary leads (small + & -) and 10.0k > 17.0k on the big leads....
Let me know if you need a used coil. |
Re: coil test
I'm not sure of the year, ser. no. 1251398 c2400 workhorse st sport. I'm getting fire to one side of the coil only when the engine is turning over. I'm trying to trace down the wiring to see if I have a problem with the igniter. Where can I get a wiring diagram? thanks

Re: coil test
Looks like 1998 to me which is way to modern for this old luddite. Still I know that someone will know the answer and be right along.
