Electric Motor Parts -

1 Attachment(s)
Need some help identifying and finding parts for my electric motor. I do not know what they are called but I need the black piece in the photo (bushing maybe) that is inside the motor that the post goes through. Also need the nylon washers that go on the outside. Can anyone direct me to where I could purchase these?

Thanks!

Its an Insulator. Any cart shops near you? If so go visit, most will have that stuff just lying around. Might be used, but really the stuff never goes bad. Worth a shot

At Columbia we don't offer them as if they are melted down, the motor is probably too far gone. From what I see in your photo, your commutator bars are in pretty bad shape and if it were my cart would look at a new or used motor.

Re: Electric Motor Parts - Need Help!!!

Two common causes:
1-cable was a little loose so drew excessive current;
2-it was towed. We see it happen a lot where the batteries went dead and customer towed vehicle. But with key in or tow/run switch left with power to controller the regen braking kicks in and fights the tow thinking it is a runaway car.

I cant see the com bars in the photo provided. If all you have is the busted post it is more than likely a simple fix. I repair 90 percent of all the par car motors that I run across. I doubt you need a new motor. A post failure like that is generally a loose connection

Thanks golf cart guy... yeah had to be a loose connection because the cart has never been towed since I put that motor in it. Any idea where I can get those insulators? Do you have any old motors that might have them?
