2010 i2 excel precedent won't run
 

hi guys,
i am a new member that has purchased a 2010 club car i2 excel precedent. i reversed it off the trailer & pulled out some of the wife's plant to make a drive way onto the patio. then put it on charge for a couple of days whilst at work.
came home from night shift & wouldn't run.
turn for/rev switch to reverse & turned the tow run switch to run & only got a quick single "buzz" sound. not continuous. the resister is really hot when in tow or run mode or whether the key is on or off. the only time it cools is when the battery is disconnected. the batteries have 49.8 volts.
we have power interruptions all the time & am going to buy a surge protector for the future, but am afraid the damage may already be done.
i have a multi meter & some instructions. probably won't read em though....
any help would be great

A hot resistor is not good. That is an indication of a short in the controller. That is the precharge resistor and keeps the capacitors charged up in the controller.

nothing that ever happens to me is cheap.:shock:
as i am remote & a very good customer of our little 9 hole course, i have got permission from our club/course manger to pull one of the carts apart & find what i need for mine that way.
