Yea it was! It was a BLAST! Until I realized we were sitting at the bottom of a giant muddy hole! (aka he77 hill!). Then, when our savior, aka 4x4 Kawasaki mule pulled us outta there, it continued to be a blast (from what I remember!!!).

Hell Hill was definately a task. It was fun tho. Thank goodness the 4 wheeler was with us or that would have been a long walk back to camp.

The brushes still have life in them. Use emery cloth to clean up the comutator. There can be no "nicks/arc'd" spots on the coumutator segmits or a brush will always catch on it, arc more and give you hesitation.

As much as I hate to say it, I think my biggest issue is my battery. Took it for a 2nd opinion test today and this guy told me it's bad. Started out at 12v but once he put a 600 amp load on it, it immediately dropped to under 6v. (I watched this guy test it). So, right now I think I'm going to just put the starter back together as is, throw in a new battery and see where it goes.

Thanks
Todd

Make shure your battery cable connections are back to bright lead also, I use a carbide bit in a drill for that. Sorry you went thru all the starter tear apart, but it's clean now and you know where your brush wear stands:thumbup: Good luck!
