The company subs out the majority of the job unless its just a little bit of a certain task. Really all I have to do is do the wall layout and keep ahead of the subs and make sure they are building as per the specs on the blueprints. This is a commercial metal stud/drywall company. Also the same type of work I've been doing for almost the past 25 yrs.

I picked up a 89 Harley sportster last night. Here is the issue....a Sportster engine is 23 inches from oil pan to the top of the valve covers, but I only have 21 inches from the engine mount to the bottom of my seat on the golf cart.

Cool:thumbup: Was just talking to the guy that built my roll bar and he want's to put a HD engine into an old Hd golf car. Dropping the swingarm/cradle wouldn't be a problem with your skills, but keeping the engine level would certinly help. Yep, a seat riser would also work. If chain drive, would the Yamaha transaxle hold up with a sprocket on the input shaft on a "hard launch? Straight axle, you would lose revese:thumbdown: Might want to post in the bigblock section under bike engine builds. And definatly talk to Rifter....he is the man that can build anything and is always ready to help on a project. If I can help in any way, just shout!

Someone mentioned a comet transmission? I think? It was a guy build a electric and converting it to a gas big block. He was going to use a straight axle and buy a transmission. Never looked it up but if there was such a thing that might be just plain awesome on a sportster motor with a straight axle. Heck just make it like a old gasser drag car. Lol

Dang Curt....Next year you'd be hanging out over at the drag strip, waiting on someone to try and kick your butt, instead of tackling He77 hill with us at CAW!!!
