Can't tell the year, but it's a G1 with what looks like a stock 2 stroke engine.

Late 70 or early 80s g1 has the old style solenoids

1979/80 or 81 G1 because of the solenoid style. The engine is from a later 83 up G1.

Wiring diagram? It looks like you can use some sauce on that spaghetti a lot more than you can use a wiring diagram!

Messin' with ya.

Check this out:

The diagrams you need are in there.

So does this thing have a positive ground then ? I am questioning why there would ever be a fuse to ground

Year Identification is typically done by verifying the serial number on the frame. The common location is behind the rear bumper on the round main frame. The number is stamped/engraved and might not be visible if there is alot of rust and dirt. Clean the area off and lightly sand the area with a scotchbrite type pad to reveal the numbers

yours looks like mine, it is a 1981 G1

This is not a positive ground, it's a negative ground. Not sure on the fuse. Are you sure it's original?

Wiring diagram here. It shows a negative ground with a fuse...
