G16 Yamaha golf cart storage and power
Hi all! New to forum. I had a gas club car and now I have a Yamaha 36v electric. Much different when "winterizing". We camp about an hour and a half away and it's really tough to get out there in winter. I plan on taking the batteries at home and storing them in my basement? Would that be a good idea? Should I do anything else to keep them good for winter?
On a side note, the Cart slows down considerably going up hill. Anything I can do about it? I heard it was a drawback of electric carts. Sorry for the |
Re: G16 Yamaha golf cart storage and power
It's not recommended but if you give it a full charge then it should have some charge left at after several months. Obviously a battery maintainer is the best rather than the factory charger. The factory charger will not come back on when the batteries get low, unless you unplug it and plug back in. Definitely turn off the tow/run switch if you have one.

No tow/run switch on a G16.
