Rebuilding Workhorse Steering Box
I need to replace the steering rack in my 97 workhorse. My question is, is it easier to rebuild it in place or should I pull the unit from the cart? Looks like I can do it in place. What about lubrication when I'm reassembling? By the way I'm changing the bearing, pinion, rack and tie rod not just the rack.

Take it off the car to do it as it is a lot easier.Just use wheel bearing grease in it .

Will do, I guess I just center it up when done. Straighten wheels then hook it back up, adjust steering wheel as needed.
