89 Ezgo Marathon Runs Good Then Dies

I have an 89 Ezgo Marathon that normally runs good. When it gets warmed up good (seems to happen more on hot days), the engine will just turn over but never take off. This just happens randomly and not all the time, and if I keep the pedal pushed sometimes it'll go but sometimes not. The compression is 115 psi. The fuel filter and spark plug are brand new. Thank you in advance for any ideas.

Just had the same problem on my 92. Mine ended up being a pulsar coil. I took one off a retired John Deere garden tractor and installed it. Works great now.
I did have to enlarge the mounting holes to the correct size. I set the air gap to 0.029 when mounting the replacement.
