Upgraded marathon battery fuse question
Hey all,
I have been upgrading a 1993 ezgo marathon over the past couple of months and am finally getting to the finish line. Now that I have all the lights hooked up, I wanted to hook up the battery meter that was provided by ecobattery. The instructions say to remove any fuse on the positive terminal to prevent arching. However, the carts unlimited upgrade kit I installed has a fuse on the positive terminal. Has anyone else been in this position? Since the peak current of the ecobattery is only 300 amps, is the fuse even necessary? Thanks all! |

Re: Upgraded marathon battery fuse question
From my email reply to the same question. Fuses do not cause arcing so I think they are only referring to the fuse location, not its use in this case.
The Alltrax Fuse included in your kit can be located anywhere in the high amperage cable system. The most common location is at either end of the main + or - battery cable. Move the fuse to the solenoid or the controller where the main + or - cable connects. Questions? |
