2006 Par car 48V uses 24V HD contactor???
 
somebody changed it out befor i got this cart.Its a 48v solinoid,my research says an OEM is 24V??controller reduces voltage to 24V on this model?what would symptoms be if someone substituted 48V??thanks

The voltage refers to the coil activation not the main contacts. It's easy to do this by choosing the correct location for the coil ground wire.

thanks,little confused by your reply.
VIN TC6C4-3ZEO-417 has a 48V main relay/solenoid,this is not correct i understand,it should be a 24V rated.someone installed it befor i got it.I was just wondered if this will cause intermittent drive loss?I plan on ordering correct one

Sorry I was confused by your questions.
Seems you were asking if a 48v solenoid could operate on 24v and the answer is not for long term use. The solenoid could drop out if your pack voltage drops under load much at all. Hope this helps

The controller is what controls the contactor coil. While 48 volts is on one side, when controller engages it sends 24 volts to the other terminal, thereby running on a net potential of 24 volts. This way we can use one contactor for 24, 36 or 48 volt vehicles.

thank you,we have only couple Columbia par car carts here,but have huge fleet of CC,Yamy and EZ-go and they all use 48V rated contactors.this is why i am sure someone grabed a 48V one off shelf and installed it.now i have intermittent loss of drive and wonder if it could be related to the 48V contactor?

When you lose drive, the controller should give you a flash code, as long as you don't turn off power.

Because the voltage is different, that means the coil resistance is different than what the controller is expecting and certainly can cause drop out.
